Testimonials

Scott is one of the most fun, creative, and open-minded coaches I’ve had the chance to work with. He’s incredibly supportive and never shy about asking around for new tips or techniques. With his industry experience, he knows exactly how to challenge athletes, even at a high level, while keeping the training process engaging and inspiring. I have so much fun just watching him train himself and others, I sometimes want to try his intricate tricks when no one’s watching!

I worked with Scott in a 360 dive roll workshop and have to say his expertise is one of a kind. It’s clear that his drills are developed from experience and the struggles that he faced himself while learning those skills. Look for Scott if you want a coach that is equal parts knowledgeable, patient, and adaptable!

Scott's teaching style breaks down complex movements into short, easy to digest chunks. I made more progress on acrobatics after a two hour workshop than I had in years of trying it on my own. There's no substitute for Scott's live teaching and feedback customized to your body shape and capabilities.

Scott McDonald is the premier coach when it comes to all things circus and acrobatic related. He passes along his wealth of performance experience to everyone wishing to pursue a career in the circus space, and consistently makes time and space for all questions, as well as answering them thoroughly. His coaching abilities are some of the best I’ve experienced in my 25 years of gymnastics (10 at the international elite level). Very few coaches can provide the exact feedback, drilling and cuing to get a new skill. Scott does this all seamlessly, creating completely safe learning environments that lead to some of the fastest skill acquisition I’ve ever seen. If you’re in need of a coach, there’s no one else I can more highly recommend than the one, the only, Scott McDonald.

My son is a competitive gymnast who needed extra help with tumbling in his floor routine. From the very first private session, Scott quickly identified the issues and gave Jacob clear, practical tips he could use right away. He explained things in a way Jacob understood, which made the skills feel “doable” and boosted his confidence. After just two sessions, his coaches noticed a significant improvement at practice.
We continued scheduling weekly one-hour sessions, and by the end of summer, our son advanced two competitive levels for the upcoming season! Not only did Scott help Jacob sharpen his skills, he also helped him build consistency and confidence. Jacob is now eager for next season, excited to see how his work with Scott will translate into even stronger performances and higher scores in 2026.

Every time I take a trampoline/tramp wall class from Scott McDonald I always know we are going to do something fun, challenging, and just a little bit crazy. He is a really amazing coach and always pushes me to learn new skills safely. I’ve seen real progress with my tramp skills lately and it is all because of his classes. While getting real training in, we also manage to play some fun games. It brings out the competitive edge but it also brings out my willingness to try skills I wasn’t even sure I could do. It’s a good distraction from training and also helps push me into upping my game every time. I also love that we are not just focused on learning standard tramp things, the weird and the crazy skills are encouraged. Anything is possible in a Scott McDonald class and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking to up their game at trampoline/tramp wall!

Scott has an incredible eye for coaching. His innovative approach to human movement borders on genius, blending deep knowledge with creativity. What sets him apart is his ongoing commitment to his own movement practice, which keeps his coaching fresh, relevant, and inspiring. Whether you’re just beginning or performing at a high level, I highly recommend working with Scott—his passion for longevity and skill development in circus and movement is unmatched.

Scott is more than just a coach. He’s a presence you can feel the moment he enters the space. His approach to gymnastics and tricking is technical, intentional, and deeply embodied. But what truly sets him apart is the energy he brings, calm, focused, and empowering.
He has this rare ability to challenge you without ever making you feel judged, and to push your limits in a way that feels expansive, not pressured. He sees your potential before you do and helps you move through the mental blocks just as much as the physical ones. His coaching is a mix of precision and flow, strength and freedom. You walk out of his sessions not just more capable, but more connected to your own body, timing, and power.
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced, working with him will level up more than just your skills. It shifts the way you carry yourself, and that’s a rare gift in any coach.

Scott is truly one of the best minds in this industry! Not only is he an amazing coach, he's able to cater his teachings to each person's individual skill set and learning style, which is truly unique. It's very apparent that he goes out of his way to study and break down all the in-depth, technical aspects of every trick!

I have been taking lessons from Scott for close to 2 years and I would highly recommend him as a coach for anyone trying to learn a movement based skill. Within that time he helped take me from having no experience on trampoline/trampwall to a competent acrobat. I have no doubt Scott has the experience and ability to teach anyone acrobatics as long as they are willing to work for it.

Something that really shines about Scott's coaching is that he knows multiple ways to approach every skill. If one method of learning a movement doesn't make sense to me, he always has other drills we can try instead. If something feels too scary to try, he has progressions I can work on to make it feel more approachable. To me this speaks to his experience as a coach. Having worked in many different disciplines across many types of students he's clearly used that to develop a wide breadth of ways to approach skills.

I have a lot of trust in Scott's assessment of my abilities. If he says I'm ready to try a skill then I have confidence that I can try it safely. If he tells me to wait, then he always has specific reasons why and things to improve upon to get to the level I need to try it safely. In a sport where fear is often a major roadblock, having this layer of expert feedback helps alleviate some of that. Scott is always happy to teach specific things I want to learn, but he'll also come up with things himself if I ask. He sees my skill set and what kinds of movements I like to do and always has suggestions for new movements I can try to build on those. Or conversely areas I struggle with he will suggest similar things I can practice that may make more sense to me or be more fun. Overall you can't go wrong getting coaching from Scott in anything from trampwall, to juggling, to parkour. He will put his years of experience and wealth of knowledge to good use making you a better athlete.

I took two private lessons with Scott during a vacation to Las Vegas. My background is in recreation trampoline and I’ve had a tramp wall set up at my house for about three months now. Scott met me at my level and listened to what I was interested in learning.
I found Scott to have an excellent sense of biomechanics and could easily break down skills into small parts, allowing me to gain skills quickly. In my two lessons we were able to do two different types of ball outs, proper wall running, pullovers onto the wall, wall flairs, swan dive, and a few other tricks. Before my two lessons, I was feeling stuck and I can say I’m re-energized on the wall and have plenty to work on. I look forward to my next Vegas vacation accompanied by wall tramp lessons!

Working with Scott McDonald is the best way to fast track your abilities on tramp and trampwall. His deep knowledge and experience means he can take any move and break it down into the progressions that are safe, and right for your abilities.

I've trained with Scott in both group and private lessons multiple times. I regularly fly out from Denver to Las Vegas just to train with him. He's just that good.

I've had the pleasure of learning handstands from Scott and also shadowing his handstand workshops as well to learn more about his teaching style. From a student's perspective Scott is very attentive and can clearly explain feedback in multiple different ways until it clicks in your brain. From a fellow teacher's perspective it was really helpful to see how Scott structured his workshop and was able to help people he just met without having any background on their practice. He is always looking for new ways to teach things and new perspectives and drills; I think he is the most creative and innovative coach I have gotten to work with.

My teenage son is an aspiring professional trampwall/circus artist who has been taking classes and workshops with Scott McDonald for the last 6 months. Scott is an amazing coach. He manages to be both patient and persistent. His immense experience in multiple disciplines gives him the expertise to provide specific feedback and coaching that is incredibly helpful to his students.
My teenager has not only learned new tricks and perfected ones that he was working on, he has also gained confidence under Scott’s guidance. In addition to being a great technical coach, Scott is incredibly generous with advice about preparing to audition and work in the industry. I could not recommend Scott more highly. If you have a chance to work with him, you should!
